How to Lose Friends and Alienate People

I saw this bit of fluff last week. Mainly because I had managed to struggle through the book surviving Toby Young's insufferable cockivity. I was curious how they would make a film with something approximating a narrative storyline and if they were going to inject a little bit of likability into the lead character, where the person he is based on is someone you would gladly do-in with a rusty shovel.

They tore the spine out of the book (good start) and proceeded to wrap it in layers of fluff and somehow they expected to end up with a nice little poodle. They had what they started with. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

I do pray that Simon Pegg stops doing this king of bumf, I think I could start to loathe him.

megan fox was criminally underused in this movie.

overall though I couldn't possibly recommend it to anyone... dire movie, horrible acting, butterface incarnate Kirsten Dunst, Gillian Anderson in a movie that doesn't have X in the title and Megan Fox fully clothed through out... I mean what where they thinking???

Yup an awful, unfunny and contrived film. It was just a meandering mess with horrible characters and a hopeless romantic subplot attached in some kind of desperate attempt to become the next Devil Wears Prada or something. Like L31mr0d mentioned above, it has hard to find anything at all to recommend about this film. Oh Simon Pegg, please don't let Hollywood destroy your geeky satirical persona. Pretty much everyone in the cast (except Megan Fox, who is the most talentless individual to hit Hollywood in some time) deserved better than this crap.

Terrible movie dragged kicking and screaming up to the level of medicority single-handedly by Simon Pegg. Furthermore (as a friend pointed out) the ending is completely unbelievable!
Pegg passes on fun and frolics and coke with hollywood #1 babe atm Megan Fox character for moody, bitchy, depressive Kirsten Dunst
. It was a Chewbacca Defence. This does not make sense! Now personally I prefer Dunst to Fox but even I could see where he's coming from.

    Eh...Kirsten Dunst ftw.

But yeah, I avoided the film and I think I'm the richer for it.

Good to see a bit of support for Dunst. If it wasn't for her acting as agreeable eye candy may have considered walking out, or taken a nap, or something.

I'd rather wear underpants made of sandpaper than watch this again. Unbelievable hollow and predictable romcom without the rom or the com. Title should be changed to How to Lose Friends and Alienate an Audience.
