Obviously not the right forum for this question but neither is motors or classic cars so i'd rather spam this place than somewhere else, also this place has top notch response times.

Anyhow I just got a 240 amp SIP mig welder for a bit of hobby welding, Im looking for the best value mig welding gas in Ireland. Everywhere I look Im supposed to rent a bottle per year then pay for gas on top of rental, the other option is a tiny bottle from the likes of halfords, which is supposed to be useless. So suggestions please on where to get the best value gas for a mig. If I have to rent I will... :(

Please move to appropriate forum if there is one

    Thanks.

Wouldnt dream of it RedRocket. :D
Half of my confusion is alcohol related anyways. These monday mornings dont suit me!
Good luck with the Mig gas.

AFAIK some MIG welders run on argon and some on CO2, but I don't know why. If you know a pub owner or a brewery truck driver, or someone in the fire extinguisher trade, that might be a cheap source of CO2 bottles
