Does anyone here use this crowd. It seems like a very cheap way of getting a handicap but I suspect there must be a catch
    Is it GUI recognised?

    What are the restrictions?

Why would you bother forking out hundreds or thousands a year on joining a club and still paying green fees when you play if you can use this option?

Never seen anything like that before - interesting!

Although, looking at their website I fail to see how they can provide an accurate handicap. Whatever about the inital handicap award, they will not have the ability to take the CSS into account for any future competitions. To me, what they are really offering is a way for people to go and play golf in Portugal or wherever else at clubs who require a handicap certificate before they will let you play. It may not be the most useful here. Can't see it being all that useful within the GUI system. I would be fairly sure that you will not be able to enter any local Open competitions using it. Could be wrong though.

Remember, firstly, most people who pay "hundreds or even thousands a year" on membership DON'T pay green fees aswell. That's one of the main reasons that they join. Other reasons include ability to play competitions, socialise, join club teams, etc, etc.

Also, you don't need a handicap to play golf. You only need one to play competitively.
