    Hi just a quick question.

I have a stammer and avoid all social events at all costs.

Most people wouldnt realise that i stammer but at certain times I just airlock!
Do wedding vows have to be spoken? It would be such a relief if I could just sign the forms and not have to speak .

Not sure about the legal implications of not speaking your vows, but you could get them shortened, or rewritten to be smoother for you to speak?

You could have the ceremony somewhere private with only your best friends and family there? Perhaps you wouldn't be under so much pressure?

If it's a church ceremony, there are a whole pile of vow options. My OH hates talking in public so we'll be going for the format where he only has to say 'I do'. Talk to your celebrant, maybe you'll just have to nod, though I've a feeling it has to be spoken to be binding.

i am not a bit shy about speaking in public, but my hubby is, so we kept our back to the audience and didnt use a microphone but the priest did, worked perfectly.. nobody blinked an eye
