I have just bought a 165 and all it has is a roll-cage. I'm freezing my ba**s off and wondered where I could get my hands on a cab for the tractor.
Did they come with a cab when they were made or does it have to be specially made?? I have a very limited budget and wonder what advice I can get from you guys...

Many thanks (says he, as he turns an odd shade of blue!!!) :D

If you look on ebay you can come across some flexi-cabs but they only offer rain protection, and they would deffen you.Could get one for a couple of hundred euros. You could buy an brand new c and g cab i think they retail for 2000-3500.They did come with cabs mostly the flexi-cabs but you could pay more at the time and buy a delux cab by a different maker.Have included pics of 165 with flexi cabs

    Where are you located?

I have a Duncan Cab from a 135 that I would be willing to part with for a few euro.
Not sure If it will fit a 165 Though, I can check the plate later as it lists suitable tractors.

Cab would require some new glass, new mount bushes and a little paint.

    I'm in Navan Co. Meath

i think your better off going with a more modern cab with a radio and air conditioning and possibly a sunroof. it would be a much nicer place to work. :D

I would be interested in the Duncan cab that emaherx mentions. Sunroof??? I have one of them at the minute... a very big sun roof !!!:D

If the 135 duncan wont fit, and I think it wont, how much would you be looking for it? and how complete is it?

I will check later Today to see what Tractors it Fits. Do you have a roll cage or roll bar on th 165?

I'm restoring the 135 but would rather have a Roll bar then the Cab, as its used mostly for summer work.

You are probably right but I will check for Gorteen first.

I don't know whats its worth So I will have to have a little think about that first. But I would take a roll bar as part payment.
Its Missing the complete back window. (i.e. no frame)
The two sliding windows and a small window over the throttle pedal are missing buts rails are still there.
The two doors are there complete with glass.
The windscreen is a bit damaged from old wiper blades

The cab would do as is for someone who just wants to keep the rain off.
A couple of small pains of glass would make it a fairly decent cab.
A bit more work would be required to fully restore it.

I can take a few pics

    Hi Gorteen,

First off no 135 cab will not fit a 165. I would go for a flexi cab of any other because its easier to get in and out of, the noise difference in negleble, the doors pop off easily, the back window rolls up. Theyre just a nicer cab. and if your still too cold you can add flexi ducting to bring heat from the engine into the cab.

Also if anyone interested i have a complete flexi cab for a 135. all glass and frames are intact. obviously the flexi bit will need replacing.

ehmarex condition wouldnt be a worry. my dads tidying up his 135 a bit, but not planning on showing it or anything, just doing what needs to be done. he has a lambourne flexi cab but the whole thing's a bit wrecked. if a cab came up at the right price I might be able to talk him into it :)

No rollbar to trade. in fact I'm on the lookout for one for a grey 20.

i have rollbars for a 135, both folding and solid hoop type. for 165 i have folding only. not sure about 20D, i think they are they same.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,342 ✭✭✭JohnBoy

    I'm 99% sure they're the same as the 135

    what sort of money?

    This is the Cab.
    I also have the Doors.

I forgot to check what Tractors it fits (other than a 135). I will check later. looking at it I now doubt that it will fit anything as big as a 165.

I don't know what its worth and want to talk to someone a bit more knowlageable about such things, before I commit to a price.

I might be interessted in the Folding type if the price is right.
I will send you a PM

    Davey / Johnboy.
I will PM you guys later as I do not want to HiJack this thread any more than I already have.

i am going to the uk on business next week. i can keep an eye out for one if you want. if you want me to do this tell me what type you want, in what condition, and your budget ....... realistically.

    Gorteen, I'm sure there's bound to be a few tractor / machinery dealers around the place with a spare cab, particularly as the 165 was such a popular model (had one for donkeys!). You need to let your fingers do the walking (and perhaps hop into the car too). A few suggestions in the west of Ireland; Claude Lyons tractors in Windfield, near Menlough; Chris Brogan in Tuam; (John / Patrick?) Forde in Corrundulla; Keanes of Balla in Mayo; also Mulchrone Bros., Westport; a place in Ballyhane outside Castlebar; Regans in Castlerea, Roscommon;

really, the possibilities are endless. Look up MFs on www.farmandplant.ie for various dealers etc. Having to go to England should be unnecessary.
