Is there any significant performance deference between a 650mm barrel and a 509mm barrel?
    Thanks.

You'll have a massive FPS loss using the 650mm barrel and your accuracy/range/fps will be terrible.

You won't see much of a difference 363mm+.

In terms of accuracy then no.

With a spherical projectile in a non rifled barrel (airsoft etc) then barrel length over about 150mm makes no difference. I can dig out the research if you like, I had a paper on it here once.
Barrel diameter makes difference though, just watch the FPS limits.

That's the one reason I don't use long AEG's, sure they may be perfect replicas but when your not shooting bullets then what's the point?
I'll stick to SMG's and short rifles, and take advantage of the large cap mags not available to the "real steel" weapons.

I can appreciate that a restricted game i.e. pistols only or low caps only, can be great fun. But unless everyone is crippling themselves then I'd rather have an uber small AEG, with a phenomenal rate of fire and decent accuracy - they all fire the same distance at 100m/s!
