Cross Country MTB's Clubs in South Dublin?

Hi Guys

I'm considering getting into Cross Country Mountain Biking.. but have no idea where to look within the South Dublin/Wicklow area.

I'm away from the next 3 weeks and when I return I'll be buying a new mountain bike with the intention of joining a club.

I had a look on cyclesuperstore and wiggle, some good bikes open to you. Best off to have a look in some bike shops aswell, especially for Giant, Trek or Gary Fisher brands (I'm a big Trek fan myself, have a look for their 6 or 7 series). Some bikes online

Kona Cindercone - €718
Good forks, entry level hyraulic disc brakes, good overall component spec

Giant XTC 4 - €638
Our club took delivery of the XTC 3 (higher spec) a few months ago and they're an excellent bike. This XTC 4 has a lower spec fork (same one as on the Kona Blast above) but the same brakes and very good components

Rocky Mountain Vertex - €840
Very good fork (same as I just ordered), good entry level brakes and high quality components

Out of all of them I'd go for the Rocky Mountain. From those within your budget I'd go for the Giant XTC 4. But that's just what I'd go for - talk to people in the club, see what they're riding. Have a look in bike shops, you may get a good haggle at the moment. Best of luck!
