Why don't you just put drop handlebars on it?

It's quite an expensive conversion and at the end of the day the frame is not a racer frame, which is what OP wants. The CRS will not take caliper brakes for example but the V-brakes on it at the moment would be incompatible with STI levers. I think selling and buying what he wants is a better idea (looking at a Specialized Tarmac which would be quite an upgrade in any case.)

Yep that's it Blorg hit the nail on the head .Tbh I have my eye on a few bikes one being the specialized tarmac--also the focus cayo 08 from wiggle. If I can't sell the bike I might just trade it in at my LBS,as that's where I bought it. They are an agent for Trek and Giant so not to bad.

If I were looking at a Trek or Giant what would I get for around 1,500 any suggestions . Thanks

If you are going to your LBS, the Giant SCR 1 is a good enough machine. Shops in Dublin have priced it around the 1300 mark when I looked. However wiggle have it for 678.83 currently so your choice :)

the SCR has been replaced by the DEFY, but in saying that the SCR is a a great bike, I have the SCR4 myself, although it has been specced to SCR1 standards.
I am quite large and have found the SCR to be quite bomb proof. But in saying that you may need to upgrade the wheels if you are going to be putting serious mileage in

Thanks for the comments everyone, Tbh I've got so many bikes going around in my head It's nuts.So what I'm going to do is settle for going to my LBS and looking at seeing what they have in the Trek or Giant range I think that's my best bet.

If you could swing a Trek Madone 4.5, that would be a very nice bike- RRP is €2,289 but you might find last year's discounted- Thinkbike in Rathmines (formerly Commuting Solutions) had it down to €1,600 and I think Joe Daly's had one discounted too.

To be honest I think if you are going around or over the €1,000 mark it would be a pity not to get carbon.
