I was looking at some statistics on the number of new cars that were registered in 2007 (the 2008 ones aren't out yet!) and I was quite surprised at one of the statistics.

Does anyone know which make of cars sold the most new cars with engine size over 2001cc in Ireland during 2007?

Land Rover were third on the list with 1,942 cars registered.
Mercedes-Benz were second with 2,114 new cars over 2L registered.

So who sold the most? (2,234 cars).

Not Lexus - 1,569 cars there. Other than Toyota, Lexus, BMW and the top three, all other makes had fewer than 1,000 cars above 2L.

520i went in March 2005, replaced by the 2.5 litre 523i.

The 2.0 520d has been the 5 series of choice since 2006(it was introduced at the very end of 05).

And this is a 1995cc engine so it's not included in 2001cc plus criteria. :)
