No CD Burners in Cuba!

I just noticed on my Trailfinders booking confirmation that it says that CD burners and any device that contains a CD/DVD burner are strictly prohibited in Cuba. It says that any device will be confiscated on entry to the country!

Anyone encounter this before? Is it really as strict as theysay?

I'm planning on bringing a netbook and usb external portable cd burner with me around the world. Cuba is stop number 2. I wonder could I leave it at the airport and pick it up when I'm moving onto the next country...?

I know laptops where illegal before but under recent changes they don't really care. They may still check them out for certain software. Anyways the girl beside me on the plane had no problem bringing in her laptop in September. And that had a cd burner on it. She just had to sign a form stating that she would be leaving the country with it.
