Yes it will,no problem! Just use the standard component AV Cable rather than a HDMI cable....49158619so3.jpg

rd u just need to hold the on/off button for a few seconds till u hear a few bleeps more than the normal on/off bleep. this resets the visual output on the ps3!!!. always do this if goin from a hdtv to a standard tv but u dont need to if going from standard def to hd!

My PS3 has been plugged into a very-normal 15 inch TV (pre-LCD) since I got it, no problems.

You're friends are assholes. Tell them that if they do it again they will not be allowed over to play PS3 again. Other than that get some decent friends that will respect your property.

my tv has no av output so i have to connect the av cables into the scart lead and then plug it in the back of the tv (and my friends are pretty stupid)

I take it you're using one of these...

    They come with the console.
Make sure it's Red->Red, White->White and Yellow->Yellow. And as somebody already mentioned, hold the start/reset button on the PS3 and it automatically detects settings.

you could do that but it'd probably look like crap on an old 13' CRT. you could just tell your friends to stop hitting your f*cking tv. I certainly wouldn't let stupid people degrade my gaming experience (although sometimes thats unavoidable when playing online :D)

Where did you pick up such a bunch of losers as friends?
Why do you let them come over to play at all?
Not sure what would be sadder, if they, and you were in your teens, or if they were "grown up".
    Tell them to F**K OFF!

Don't think we need to bother Dr. Phil on this dilema!

Playing your PS3 games on a SD telly will suck, full stop, no questions.

The PS3 is heavy and moving it from room to room, or TV to TV will, eventually, cause a misha costing you the console, maybe.

Worst case scenario I know, but do you want to risk it over a bunch of windowlicking morons?
Fellas that sound as thick as pigsh!t and twice as lumpy!

Haha, I must make a note of that one:p

As has been said already, you need to hold the power button in if moving between a HDTV and SD, but new friends sounds like a more sensible solution.

    No,it doesnt?

You just have to either reset the ps3 using the on off button or turn the tv/audio output to standard pal tv before you move it as its set to HDTV and the old telly cant pick it up.

I'm in a library and I just busted my chops laughing at that. Getting some funny looks now.
