    Anyone had any problems with a Creative Zen Vision:M (30GB) and Windows Vista? My sisters after getting a new acer laptop for christmas which runs vista but her player wont work with it. I've tried installing all the latest applications etc I can find on the creative site but everything hangs when trying to access the player. By that I'm talking about windows explorer, windows media player and creative mediasource - they all just stop responding. Needless to say its a bit annoying.

    Anyone got any suggestions? I've already uninstalled everything and reinstalled but still nothing.

    thanks.

    I think I have the same problem as you... I'll just copy my post in:

    "I've got a Creative Vision M 60 gig MP3 player. When I connect it to my computer, the screen on the player says it's docked. But when I try to open the "ZEN Vision:M Series Media Explorer" the computer is telling me the plaeyr isn't connected (ie the screen with the blue bar at the top is all grey). This window won't close either, I can only minimise it. Has this happened to anyone else, and how did you fix it? Cheers!"

    Sound the same?

    Can anyone help us out?

    Yeah sounds similar all right. Did a few tests with Media Monkey too and thats slightly different, it'll show whats on the player but cant play any of them. Its bloody weird.

    Very annoying all right. My OH's sis has the exact same problem. I've mine working grand on an XP machine but when trying to install it on the Vista it doesn't pick it up at all. Also it only connects via WMP 10 so you may want to try to roll back to that. (I'd do a quick google search on that first though!).

    Found this;

    There's a link to a windows update that might do the trick. But I have my own doubts.

    Well I'm on the latest version of Media Player and I've tried upgrading the firmware but still no luck. In fact now the player just freezes on the "docked" screen so when I disconnect it just does nothing and I have to stick something in the little hole at the bottom :(

    I have had no problems with it, but i dont use mediasource,

    Ive just been using it like a removable disk (not the removable disk aspect of it)

    Like opening it when it shows in my computer and dragging and dropping files

    Well I had tried that too but what happens is I try and browse the drive and the explorer window just stops responding :(

    Don't know what could be wrong there,

    Just checked and my version says 1.40.02

    I dont remember having any problems that you describe, so can't even hazard a guess

    It had been on that version I think but I've since upgraded to the latest firmware which from the looks of things was a mistake since pluging it in now just freezes the player. And not just on my sisters laptop but on mine too.
