    Hi :)
ok well me and the gf wanna try anal sex soon enough now here's the thing thats got me thinking we're going to do it without condoms ( we're both clean, sti free etc etc that's not an issue) but I'm just wondering can something start from doing it without a condom even though we're both clean ? been reading up on it and everywhere says always wear a condom doing anal but if both parties are clean as a whistle surely it's ok to do it without them isn't it ?? and (yes plenty of lube will be used too ;):D )

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks :)

In terms of basic simple hygine and to avoid normal occuring infection you are better of wearing a condom.

No it didn't, but it certainly hasn't helped.

a condom would be the better option for the reasons mentioned above, also your girlfriend will probably get the runs if you "release" inside her.

Sorry to put a downer on things but its the truth!

    Hi Op,

I remember read a funny article by a porn journalist about an embarrasing blooper on a porn set involving anal sex and a female porn star that was "not clean" and things got a little messy on set!

Still, what I got from the article was:

    1. Men/women in the adult industry use anal douches or nemas in orer to avoid any "organic matter" being embarrassingly/disgustingly released. You can buy a simple one for home use on-line with any adult shop or walk into an adult shop for one. I remember seeing some on e-bay starting at about 8 euros.

    2. The anal passage provides it's own natural lubricant to aid the usual processes. This quite clean. A good wash should suffice. However, you may want to use some form of lubricant to aid yoursel/lady. As with any other form of sex, fore-play is importnat, especially if it's your/her first time, and as with vaginal intercourse, if you/her freeze up during, it can be both uncomfortable and painful.

    3.be gentle :-D

I have tried it twice (I am female), but the first time, no douche..was ok, needed a lot of gentle foreplay due to fright. hygiene very essential. She MUST be relaxed. It will only be a disaster otherwise. Second time after reading article, got a douche, things were way better and went smoothly. if the mood is right, it can be enjoyable for both partners.

Important: You can leave the condom ONLY if you are sure you are both quite faithful. Glad to hear you know you are free of any nasty "bugs". Also, if she says NO at any point, stop! It is very easy to take advantage in that particular position, give her space and she'll relax enough for you.

Other than that, don't be afraid to explore yourselves, it will keep the fires burning long after the initial excitement has worn in your regular physical relationship.

    Hope this helps.....

OP as a dude I never really got into anal even though I was asked a few times. The once or twice I did try it felt awkward so I just stick with what I am good at ;-)

Although here is something that I have done which a couple of my partners have absolutely loved. While we were having sex (better if she was on top) I would insert my finger inside her ass. While I was doing this I would talk to her and get her to play around with the idea that she was being DP'ed. Nine times out of ten it would result in an orgasm within less than a couple of moments. Whereas without this 'detailing' as I call it an orgasm could take anywhere up to 15 minutes or more.

I hope this post is not too beyond the pale of normal discussion but since Thaed has decided kept the thread open I presume we can discuss and share ideas as mature adults.

Definitely go with a condom mate. No matter how clean or STI free you are, your penis will not be protected from the amount of bacteria that reside in an anus.

It's already been said but just to confirm that the above is 100% not true. Aids was originally spread by anal sex but only because the first person in the chain already had it

It's not possible for two people who don't have aids to get it by any kind of sex

Thanks for that that’s really good advice…didn’t know about the things you can get..must be pretty awkward putting it in though ??? would it not get stuck in while doing it ?

This is what I’ve been reading a lot of but how what can cause infections etc when we’re both clear of anything ?

    Hi there " a boy",

I guess whatever you and your GF want to do is your own beeswax as long as you're both happy with it.
I have never had any curiousity about anal sex. One BF I had went on and on about trying it..he was crap (no pun intended) at straight sex.
    Always practice safe sex.

    anal douches or nemas

One question how the hell do you use an anal douche ? when do you use it ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,584 ✭✭✭TouchingVirus

The anal passage provides minimal natural lubricant (read Mucus), and the area around the sphincter muscles prevent that lube from exiting except when accompanied by faeces. As a result, trying to enter an anal passage without using some form of personal lubricant is uncomfortable for most people and downright painful for some. That's why almost all the guides for anal sex you read include using lots and lots of lube, hell even the pornstars and doctors doing prostate exams use lots of lube

So while it might be all right for you it's certainly not all right to suggest going without, especially to first timers - yes I know the OP said he's going to use lots, but some people might skip over that and read the above :)

Back to the OP, I'd suggest you do indeed use a condom, and perhaps experiment with finding the right one (one that's thick enough not to split if you want to do it vigourously, but not so thick as to remove sensation). This not only improves ease of access and reduces the lube needed, but it protects you from all the bacteria up there. I don't care how many enema's a person has had, that's still their rectum and there is still bacteria on there. It's akin to licking a toilet bowl that's just been Cillit Bang'd ...I wouldn't trust it - would you?

Also, be prepared to take it incredibly slow and stop when she says. Let her control how much of you to take into her and do go all canine on her and get in 1mm and try putting the rest of it in in a heartbeat. Be prepared for ..noises :o

Best of luck OP, have fun!

Every person has e coli bateria (amoungst others) in their anus. The tip of your penis leads into the ureathra. The batercia in your parnter's anus can travel into your ureathra during unprocected sex and cause a urinary tract infection. These can be quite painful (buring during and after urinaration, frequent need to urinate (even when there is little there), blood in urine), and would require antibotics to clear.

Best use a condom and not have to worry about the chance of getting an infection!

Presuming that you are accurate (rather than assuming, as people often do without any reason to) about your being free of infections your concern is that there are bacteria in the rectum of just about everyone.

Yes, this is a definite and ongoing risk. If you really want to go without condoms then you could decide this risk is acceptable. Some people do much more infection-risky things with rectums than anal penetration and don't have problems while others are unlucky enough to get infections with just not being careful about which fingers have already done what.

The risk decreases, but does still exist, if you urinate and then wash well immediately afterwards. If you engage in vaginal sex after anal sex the risk is massively higher.

Make no mistakes though, it is a risky act to engage in, there's no point pretending otherwise. Condoms massively reduce that risk.

Before you even get to thinking about that though, it's not a good idea to start with not using condoms. Condoms, and lots of lube will make it much more likely to be enjoyable for both of you.

Often people talk about this as if its the same for everyone. However, on the one hand the recipient may well find there is little or no discomfort even without lube while the penetrator may find it is sore even with quite a lot.

But you don't know which you are until you've done it, so start by assuming you both need there to be lots of lube. Also, work the area around the rectum before moving into working the rectum itself and slowly and gently let it get used to (and let your partner enjoy) play with finger (and perhaps tongue, though that carries its own infection risks) before even beginning.

When it comes to the actual penetration you of course want to go slow. Your partner should try to relax as much as possible, while you move in very slowly. Be prepared for a bit of awkwardness and mis-pointing (when its not a movie, things sometimes don't go perfect) and don't react to any such incident by ramming things in to cover your blunder. Rather, just accept that you are trying something that can sometimes not go right the first time and keep it slow.

While your partner tensing her rectal muscles can be very enjoyable for both of you (by making things tighter) its only to be tried once you're both happy that things are going well.

Only when you're both happy with how things go with condoms and lots and lots and lots of lube (really, at least 3 times more than you think you'll need) should you even begin to consider anything else. As I said above, some people really don't need much lube at all, but some other people find they need loads even if they are into pain. It's much better to err on the side of too much than too little.

Some very good reasons given above in favour of using a condom. Another reason I'd suggest is for comfort. I'm female and during anal I find it much easier if my partner uses a condom, and he's actually said the same. As has already been said, plenty of lube! And for goodness sake be gentle, take it slow, and don't force.

Be aware that it might take a bit of trying before your GF is comfortable for you to go all the way in, it can be quite painful if you go at it with the same vigour as you would for vaginal sex. Starting off with maybe a finger or two might be a good idea. (if you are using fingers, put your fingers inside a condom or latex glove if possible - easier all around hygiene wise).

I'm a bloke, and we do the 'milking' technique. Essentially, she's in control. And, as she opens up, she guides it in as far as she's happy with. She then clenches while I withdraw (Not all the way out). Push forward as she opens etc

It seems a good way to start this. If you want to go for it 'hammer and tongues' (Much) later, by all means.. But, if you steam in right at the start, it'll really put her off the idea for good probably.

I find making her cum (orally) beforehand really helps as she's more relaxed.

Condoms and lots of lube really are the best way to go.
