Prescription ski goggles

    Evening,

I'm looking for prescription ski goggles - I've been skiing before but never bothered with the prescription lenses. I wear contacts occasionally but I don't find them convenient for skiing. My prescription is mild enough, -1 and -1.25 with slight astigmatism. I've searched here on boards and also googled it but there's not much information out there!

The best site I've found at the moment is www.vision3k.com, seems reasonable enough and they've a good selection of goggles that you can put the insert into.

Has anybody any experience or advice as to where is the best place to get prescription ski goggles or anything else to watch out for?

    Thanks.

saw them in specsavers last time i was in, may be worth having a wander in - personally have no experience with them - contacts work well for me

Got glasses from specsavers with slight wrap around frame & polarised lenses. Hope to try them out in a couple of weeks time..............

Uvex do goggles that fit over your glasses... I hear they're very comfortable. Luckily I don't need my glasses when I ski.

Vision Express also do them - branch in Liffey Valley.

Prescription RX inserts are available for lots of goggles, but when you take them off in the bar or whatever you need glasses too. I just go with lenses. Far more sensible option in my opinion.

Contacts are the way forward. Means that you can still see during the apres if you never make it back to get changed first.

Supposedly contacts can dry out at altitude... don't hold me to this, it's just a reason why some people don't wear them.

I think the goggles over the glasses are the way to go... put tis all personal I guess.

Well they dry out as you're hungover most days. Well, I am. Anyway, I always bring drops with me and leave my glasses in a locker for the aprés!

Yep, I'd always have the drops with me as well.
