Faded iMac G4 Screen

I type this from an internet cafe. The screen at home is faded to the point where it is unbearably dark. I have an iMac G4 20'' monitor computer. From my fishing on the net it appears that an inverter board is the problem. However, I do not wish to purchase it as I am not certain. Could anyone refer me to a person or place…
