I am just after installing msn on my new laptop and I cant login into my account. Saying wrong id or password. Whats stranege is that I logged into it about ten minutes before hand on my old laptop, same password worked now I cant login at all. And have no way of getting my password changed/reset.

    anybody know what happened here?
just noticed, when i try to enter a different password, it defaults back to what it actually is but still wont work!

some1 else posted in the last few days with a similiar problem. hmmm.

in theory you should be able to log into www.passport.net and change your password there.

Did u type your old pass into your old computer or was it saved ?

do you have an antivirus/firewall ? could try to disable that. i bet thats your prob.

Well, first step, in every case of a laptop that comes into our shop with a repair issue is that we turn off McAfee or Norton. This may or may not solve your problem.

Also, before going any further than this, I would defo recommend going to an online MSN site like www.meebo.com and entering your details in here to make sure they work. This will give you a fairly good indication whether the fault is the laptop or the account on MSN itself.

Other than that, the best I can say really is that make sure you have the bit after the @ typed in also. Even though MSN should warn you to type this in anyway if you don't.

Failing that, to be honest, you have nothing to lose by doing a quick uninstall and reinstall.

    tried all that.
went back to my old laptop- wouldn sign me there either.
    turned off firewall, lowered security.
tried meebo, couldn log in there either.

so all in all. ive got a new email addy, luckily, its the same only a different domain :)

    thanks for yer help guys

Did you not try clicking "forgot my password" in msn ??
Might be worth a try before using a new address
same happened me before worked fine after that
