I'm thinking of changing gyms at the mo. I joined westwood last year when i was living in stillorgan, but have since moved to ranelagh so looking for something nearer (i gen cycle to the sandymount ww at the mo, but my bike got nicked so am luasing it to leopardstown!).

Any suggestions for a good gym in ranelagh/rathmines or city centre? Someplace that won't cost an arm and a leg and not too busy after work in evenings.

Check out Raw. Just on South Richmond St. behind the bleeding horse. Only a few mins walk from Ranelagh

if you don't need a pool (always liked the pool in ww sandymount as i floated better in it :)) this place in milltown is due to open in Jan... they seem to have a opening offer... haven't toured it yet (hasn't opened) so dunno what is in it... might be worth a look when it does open to see if it meets your needs

dunno what you are looking for in a facility so the only other place in the locality i can think of off the top of my head:
la fitness, dartry (facility may not meet your needs)
riverview, donnybrook (costs and arm and a leg tho)

not many gyms in dublin centre and surrounds that aren't busy after work though, peak times esp just after weekend (mon, tue... wed ...) and mid jan - march / april will be nuts

Yea, i heard about that place, but can't really get too much info from the website. I would like to see some pics etc of the gym to see what the place is like etc, but it might be worth a stroll down at the weekend to have a look.

Again, no pics on the website, but it sounds impressive. Does anybody know anything about this place?

    What about pinnalce?

I've just been reading the gym reviews thread (http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054971163&page=30).

So does RAW = 'old pinnacle'?

And is the old pinnacle still open?

There's a new place opening up in Milltown. €299 sub. I haven't been in it but it looks fairly small.

Theres is always Crunch in UCD.

Very close to Ranelagh, cheap as chips but not the best gym in the world by a long shot.
