    See http://www.thrdo.com/pdfmap/newross1.pdf and http://www.thrdo.com/pdfmap/newross2.pdf

Still waiting for PP for the other two phases though, won't go to tender until that's granted.

We're now a bit behind schedule according to http://www.thrdo.com/n25newrossdates.html

I heard it on Pat Kenny this morning.

Seems to be a bit of a mystery (to those not in the know, so the speak) as to why the marshmeadows plan is being discarded for this new one.

One guy was saying the original plan would cost 40 to 50 million while the new one will be coming in at a around 350 million.

What's the story? They wouldn't really say on air the details behind it.

You can listen back on the show later, but the main thrust was that the project was too grandiose, exspensive (PK pointed out that costs are falling not rising), that there would be too great an environmental impact and finally that trade in NR would suffer as the bypass exits are so far from the town.

    Everyone had a negative angle.
