Does anyone have any experience of Crest Strips?

A friend of mine is from America and she says there available over there and she swears by them. Her teeth are gorgeous and white and if ever she has something important to go to, she sticks on a strip and her teeth just gleam!!

I'd love to try them but wanted to get opinions first! Also, is it just the US you can get them?

Hi, I bought a box on Ebay last year and my teeth are still fairly white from them, they are great, the only thing is DO NOT use them directly after brushing your teeth, it hurts like hell... Says it on the box too, unfortunately I didn't read it till after I'd used them :o ouch.. Overall I would definately recommend them.. I might get myself another box, top up the whiteness :D

You know, I ALWAYS forget about Ebay! What's the usual price to pay for them? Oh, I'm very excited now!!

I used these (bought a box in the States) and I think they're great. I didn't actually use them for 14 days in a row (as I think is recommended) but instead used them for a few days in a row and now just every now and then when my teeth are looking dull. They really make a difference. I can't remember exactly how much they cost but pretty sure they were less than 20 dollars. If they're not on ebay, try googling for US online drugstores such as Duane Read. They might deliver to Ireland.

i never used them i plan on using them once i get my braces out but i was askin about them before and i was told you can get ones that do the job in something like 5 days but they are sipposed to really burn ur gums . ebay is the best idea ebay is full of them and they are all under £20

I've been doin loads of research on them and they dont cause any damage at all to you.

For anyone who experiences pain/discomfort etc...it states on the box that your not meant to brush your teeth before using them and the ONLY way you'll experience any pain etc is if you do this.

Theres TONS of them on ebay but its just a matter of finding out which is the best price!

    how do they work?

and are you 100% SURE!!! they dont do any damage to the enamel?

I would recommend using Sensodyne toothpaste when using these; I started to use it after a day and had no problems with them from then on. While they definitely whitened my teeth, they didn't leave them gleaming, and nobody really commented on them afterwards, which says it all really!

are you meant to brush your teeth after you use them or should you wait acouple of hours? Seems like you would be brushing off the gel if you brushed your teeth straight away after using them!

No brush em, the half hour that the strips are on is enough... You'll get serious sensitivity if you leave it on...

Sorry, but your research isn't correct. Some people are more prone to tooth sensitivity and gum irritation than others. If that's the case then just don't use them as often.

Crest make three different types, Classic, Pre,ium and Pro Effects. If you are going to get these then get the pro effects as they are the best ones Crest make.

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe you're only supposed to use them for the recommended period (14 days, is it?) every six months or so. In other words, don't use them for two weeks every other month.

    Some FAQs

    They're perfectly safe.
The fact they're made by Crest should give you a clue.

I am in the process of using them right now!!! I am on the third day of a 7 day programe and there are already results. They are so easy to use. I usually use them while in the shower but you can get away with them anywhere cuz they dont really hinder speech. They are class!! Have only had slight sensitivity and thats probably because I used them straight after brushing..(not supposed to!). I bought them in the US though and they were $30

Still waiting on them to be posted over from Ebay but including postage and the actual cost of them, it came to STG23 which is a deadly deal....

That's very cheap, which ones did you get?

I'd recommend to anyone thinking of using them to buy two packs. I got one myself, and while it made a big difference, two would have been just right!

As for damaging enamel, well I asked my brother (who happens to be a dentist) before I used them!
He said as long as you follow the instructions on the box, they won't damage your teeth or gums. He reckons the only way they can cause damage is when people go mad with them, intentionally disregarding the instructions, and leave the strips on for much longer than they're supposed to, or more often than their supposed to.

The ones marked "premium". I had my friend beside me when I was on Ebay and she pointed out the right ones. Its dead cheap. Apparently yer man selling them has "more than 10" so for anyone looking to get some, check it out!
