Looks good corky!Maybe it could be lowered a little, but theres nothing wrong with it as it is,the wheels just fill the arches right. How does it drive with such large wheels on,do they rub the inner wings or arches?
The twin pipes look like they mean buisiness!;)

Did you take those pics this morning, its just as frosty here in tralee too!

I think that a little lower would suit it too - it depends on the effect it'd have on ride/handling though

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,733 ✭✭✭✭corktina

    taken yesterday...handles superbly...

for a long time Ive been riding round with standard springs replacing the ones it came with BUT with the exhaust hitting off the axle.(it runs UNDER the axle you see...) I got new springs for it and couldnt get over the kerb out of the drive! on measuring it , it was 3 1/4" lowered and the middle silencers were less than 2" off the tarmac and less than 1" from the body.....hence standard sized wheels added to increasae ground clearance....its still clipping the kerb a bit but then my drive is fairly extreme so I cant go lower, not wise in Ireland at the best of times !

they arent necessarily staying but I have to agree they look better....only put them on as they were the right diameter but the comparison with the old ones which were still on the front made me want to swap them all. I have a set of minitlies I may use or some Capri RS-style four spokes...

Smashin car mate......dont think either wheels do it any favours though....if it were mine i'd look into lowering it a bit and sticking on 17's that suit the car , i know theres 00's of wheels out there but i think the wrong wheel can destroy the look of a car (imo).....
I'd deffo look into re-routeing the exhaust if thats the only problem stopping you from lowering...she's sitting too high with the big tyres...

Can't say i'd be a fan of 17's on that car at all at all. God, lol didn't even realise it had the two stripes on it, they aren't very evident in the first pics. Cracking interior on it, nice seats. Fair play.

    What engine?

well it would be easier to change the wheels that way seeing as it would be standing up on its own exhaust :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,694 ✭✭✭✭L-M

Yellow one sits nice, but those Wolfrace wheels are horrible on it... What were the origional wheels on those at the time??

Front is now right - but back too low......gettin' there though.

Would a different dia rear wheel look better, to balance it? Problem really is the arch dia is too small for that rim. A narrow-axle hot rod look would be good, with a tall section rear tyre.

    Like this ?

Yep, lose the 2 x pipes.

    All good, though.

I'd leave the ride height alone, lose the slotmags and buy a set of appliance wheels, a bit like these:

a little too bling for me....the slots are there to indicate the required size and arent necessarily permanent.Old Skool will be the order of the day though
