Im looking to buy something of the dixons website and its a sterling price. Just wandering what way does that work? Do they give you a bad exchage rate when it comes out of your bank in Euros or would I get the proper one?

You should get the exchange rate for the day that it's charged to your card.

if in doubt as your CC company (in terms of when they pick the rate applicable, day of purchase or when it appears on your statement)

They will also charge a commission which most companies factor into the rate
