X Music Opening Hours

Does anyone know X Music Christmas opening hours? There is no mention on their website and their phone system answers as if they were there. I even called out to the store today and it just shows normally opening hours listed on the doors but nobody is there. I waited a while to see if anyone was coming to open the store. Within the half hour of waiting, at least 40 other People called to the store and I even noticed a few cars from the Country who must have been really ticked off after the journey. Very poor admin and organization here. I have been in the store prior to this and they are very helpful in general but they really need to brush up and run the place properly, it is not right that they have no notices etc or any voicemail etc to let Customers know the store is closed.

I've just returned from there. I got there at 16:23 and they were closed! I couldn't believe it! No mention of this on the website! I waste about €7 on travel today, for nothing.

I saw someone else pulling up in their car checking it out too.

Hope they're open tomorrow, I'm losing sleep over trying to find my new guitar :(

It does n't really surprise me at this stage to be honost. They seem to be on a different planet when it comes to thinking about the customer. They came in for a fair amount of flak on this thread (link below). Pity, because they are very good in other ways.

I got a reply. They didn't have what I wanted. Aren't they the biggest music store in the UK and Ireland?

I dont think all the blame lies with them, most suppliers close for christmass so they wont have been getting orders in as a result, if you have been in the supermarkets lately you will see the same problem with basic food supplies.

They are still a new shop aswel which means they will probably be talking to more and more suppliers as time goes on and getting more and more stock. Having personally tried to set up a shop before I can see how it may take time to get all items stopcked as you have to guarantee orders to get a supplier but you cant do that without proving you can sell other stock.

You must not have read the whole thread.:) No one is blaming them for closing, but not letting people know their hours of business, either on their skeletal web site, or even a note on the door is unforgivable IMO.

I just wanted to add. I went in to buy a guitar in xmusic for my daughter, I am not a musician so have no idea what I am talking about, but wanted a guitar for 7 year old, too much too ask??? I was treated like an alien, just because I am not a musician does not mean I am not a customer. My eldest son plays the drums too. I can see myself spending alot of money on instruments over the coming years, so they have lost a customer.
I went back to music maker where I bought my sons drums a few years back, and they were great and very helpful. I'll be sticking with them in futhure, I guess new is not always better.

I'm fairly surprised by that tbh, they've always been very helpful in there! Try not judge them from one bad experiance, between the prices and the selection they are definately the best music shop in Ireland imo...

(ps. why join a board just to slate a company? not very nice!)

Yeah, I regularly chat to the guys and gals who work there, all of them I've found to not only be sound but also very helpful and interested in what they're selling. One of the guys recommended several pedals he liked that were similar to one I asked about, including ones they didn't even stock. Fair play to them.

I had googled xmusic to see if there was other feed back on them, and saw the boards, so wanted to say my piece. I'm entitled to my opinion. By the looks of it I am not the only one who has a gripe with them. Yes their prices are good no doubt, but you get what you pay for. I will pay a little extra if customer service is better. Same as flying, if you choose ryanair you don't expect high standards!

From my opinion music maker are better. I am sorry if I have offended people by joining to give my opion, word of mouth it is so...
