I left the Fridge door open last night, I closed it this morning thought nothing of it. It no longer seems to be cooling stuff. The freezer is starting to melt, not totally ice cream is soft though. Its making a kinda funny running water noise too. Any ideas what to do
    Thanks.

You are lucky with the weather, cold and dry, so you could do worse than store stuff in an out-house if its required.

    http://www.appliance411.com/faq/defrostproblem.shtml
    Drain Problems

The water that is recovered during the defrosting of the evaporator is funneled to the moistral pan under the refrigerator. The drain trough in the freezer compartment below the evaporator which catches that water can get plugged with food residue, etc. and ice, causing the water to back up and freeze there. This ice blockage can hamper the air flow from the freezer section into the refrigerator compartment, causing warmer temperatures in that compartment.

Many recent top-freezer fridge models have had design problems in this area. If you experience this on a newer top-freezer fridge design, you should consider having a *factory authorized* technician see if any design modifications are necessary on your model to correct this occurrence.

Looks like leaving the door open has caused a part thaw thats blocked the drain.

    Thanks mike,
It only a newish fridge I've had it under year. Do you think totally defrosting it will help?

I had hotpoint out and was told the fridge need to be re-gassed. Doesn't this usually mean the fridge is old and knackered. Being only 11 months old I wasn't expected this. Would I be with in my rights to request a new fridge freezer or do I have to allow them to try fix it first.
    Thanks.

I believe they have the right to try fix it first.

Our fridge is not cooling in the fridge part, that freezer is fine. We have is about 4 years and we had it serviced a year ago and after that if worked fine.
Lately a lot of thing`s have being going off, we turned it all the way up but it`s not getting cooller.
Other than get in serviced again, does this sound familar with anyone?

Same problem with my rfa17g. 4 yrs old. Was told it needs re-gased. Approx 150 quid. But no guarantee will go well long. I’m thinking now to buy a Samsung, never ever go for Hotpoint, too many negative reviews on the net.

Is this a common problem with fridge/freezers?

I have a Hotpoint and I`m having the same problem. Its about 5-6 years old and was serviced around the 3-4 year, then lately it need another service, buy the exact same dude and he said there`s no guarantee if you refill it, that was €160.
For a 5-6 years old fridge, come on, I`ve read loads of reviews about this and that make and model, I think that it in order for you to buy something "good" sometimes you have to spend a little, but time to time you can get a dud model.
I`m going for a Samsung fridge/freezer, me telly`s Samsung and its the biz,so I`ve no worries about the fridge being same, lol

The samsung tv and fridge factories are completly different. Im baffled as to why so many people on here are recommending samsung fridges. All you got to do is type in Samsung RS21 fault into google and you will see what i mean.
I am currently involved in carrying out a mod to every single rs21 bought in ireland.Samsung have been on bbc watchdog and all over the media about this

Agree with G.ARK, my RS21 decided to "ignite" while I was on holidays, we were very lucky that the whole house didnt burn down, Samsung offering me a new fridge but not entirely happy taking another potential fireball into my house :(
