We're surely getting close to a situation where digital TV in one box is available to all… FreeSat out of the UK and DTT due soon here.
My question is if anyone has experience of a combo Satellite, DTT, PVR system?

There are a few out there (some people are trying to flog MPEG2 systems as suitable for use here!!) but I think I’m going blind looking at spec’s!!

Anyone got any experience of these systems???

How does the PVR work with the EPG???? If I want to record every episode of Fair City (!!!) then would this be possible or would I need to have ‘official hardware (i.e. boxer/Freesat??) If anyone could give me a few pointers on how it operates I’d appreciate it….

    MVision HD200COMBO
PVR Ready so needs an external HDD

    TECHNOMATE TM-6900 HD COMBO SUPER
As above, needs an external HDD

    Vantage HD 8000
Includes a 500gig HDD but loads of $$$’s

    Hi

Am currently using on of these
http://clarke-tech.com/produkte?template=detail&entryid=9&lang=en . works sweet with the DVB T & S, will also record onto an external USB drive but unfortunately the EPG is only 'now & next', not sure if this is just a feature of this FTA box or of all fta boxes. Anyway not bothered with EPG too much as I use a MythTV box for all my recording, just my two cents......

I'd wait till Feb / June and get a unit with 160Gbyte to 500Gbyte HDD, dual terrestrial tuner and dual satellite tuner.

Otherwise go for a separate cheap Sat receiver and use Analogue for RTE till end of Q1 2009.

Why wait until Feb/June, can you not getting that now?

I'd love a list of different DVB-T/DVB-S boxes. The range of prices/quality/clones is a bit off-putting.

    Hi Watty,
This seems very specific. Do you know of such a machine on the horizon?

    Any other details?

will the satellite tuner be Freesat or just FTA?

well, as far as i know there are only few receivers that will accommodate/have dual DTT, dual DVB-S2 tunners and build in HDD. Price is what keeps them from been more mainstream ...you wont see much change of your 1000 euro.
