Honeymoon Question - 3 week mini tour of America

    Hey,

Myself and the OH have never been to America. We would love to fly out to the states the day before New Years Eve (next year of course :p ) to ring in the New Year in Times Square, and then spend the next 3-4weeks spending 3-4 days in different locations.
Does anyone know where best to organise something like this? Is there certain travel agents that sell ready made packages? Or ones that will tailor make a package like this to suit us?

    Thanks a million!

Well im sure you could book it yourself but that would need a lot of work & research.
Otherwise, I would reccomend frank in can america. We wanted to go to a few different places & he sorted it all out for us over e-mail & phone. No pressure to book either.

My dad did it twice, once for his honeymoon and again for his 50th. They just went into a normal travel agents and arranged everything. I know there is a good one in city centre (dublin) called the world travel centre that arrange things like that, a girl called Andrea works in there and is fantastic.

My dad both times arranged for a few different places. The first time his last stay was 4 days in Las Vegas after being to New York, Chicago and somewhere else. His second visit was a little different but ended up in Barbados for a few days.

I used Trailfinders to do a tailormade trip in the States a couple of years ago and they were excellent.

Myself and my boyfriend did a three week tour of the East coast of America/Canada 2 years ago. Flew into Boston and out of Chicago. We only booked the first few nights accomodation before we went and figured out the rest of our trip as we went. We ended up going from Boston - New York - Albany - Niagra Falls (Canadian side) - Toronto - Montreal - Chicago.
We bought a 3 week train ticket specially for tourists that covered all of our transport on both Amtrak and Via Rail. If you have a laptop with you its very easy to just book hotels a few nights before you get there as you go.

I know the lack of a plan isn't for everyone. The US is very easy though, everywhere is customer focused and standards are very high. We had a great time, but that's the way we do all our our holidays.
    Best of luck with yours!
