    Hi folks,

First time posting on this thread and was wondering if you lads could tell me what the best type of boxing/martial arts would be best suited for an absolute beginner and where in Dundalk/Drogheda or surrounding areas could I learn?

    Thanks a lot in advance!

My advice is to try any and all martial arts that are convenient to you. All martial arts should give you a few classes to see if you like it. Try a few, see what you like and stick with it.

As for what is available in Dundalk/Dorgheda. There is a Taekwon-Do school in Boyne Valley if that helps.

    Hi OP,
There is no actual MA that would be best suited to a beginner.
All MA's have a beginner syllabus, which means anyone at anytime can start an MA from scratch.
What you need to decide is what you would like to practice and if there is a good club near you that is worth the money.

What you need to consider is what type of training you're afer. Do you want to get fit? Do you want to learn self defence? Do want to become atheltically proficient? Do you want to compete? There are several arts that will provide this type of training. Then there are others that don't focus on athelticism, and provide a system of interest more so than altheticism, like sword fighting or kyoshu Jitsu (Pressure points).
ALL have positive benifits, whether it be its sport or it's social aspect.

    You need to decide!
