Santa came and brought a Precision WH-1080PC for Grandad. I have been busy all morning helping him set it up - pity Santa don't leave elves at the houses too to give a helping hand! ;)

Anyways... the website will be live by tomorrow evening, but WUndeground is working here... http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstation/WXDailyHistory.asp?ID=IKILKENN3

    Located at Johnstown, Kilkenny.

Another noob who got a La Crosse WS2300 station as a pressie.

Won't install it for a week or so but we live in Clondalkin with a small urban garden so any pointers would be appreciated.

Put her up above fence height the furthest away from the house as possible.

Register your data here also... http://www.wunderground.com/wxstation/signup.html

Talk to Snowbie about www.irelandsweather.com if you are online 24/7

Hey I got my Da a Watson W8681 and put it up today looks the business too!

Just a quick question about sharing the information with everyone using the above mention site.

Does the unit have to be connected to the computer all the time or can i get a wireless usb so i can leave the monitor in the kitchen?

Also for some reason the rain gauge says there has been ten cm of rain through it! I know there hasn't because it hasn't rained, i tried to reset the unit but it will not reset the computer reset straight away for me.

    Any help or ideas?

Cumulus is the software that allows you to upload stats to WUnderground. You can get that here... http://sandaysoft.com/downloads - thanks to Ch750536 for the link.

The station must be connected to a PC in order to be able to upload to a website such as WUnderground. Also, you must have the EasyWeather software (supplied with station) running alongside Cumulus.

Pull out the batteries of the station to stop the false rainfall data - that happened GF's Dad also. It must be a bug in the system.

It is grand though for €90. However, the temperature module should be kept out of direct sunlight as the shield is rather poor.

Cheers for that i probably should have found out about the Rain Gauge before i put the station on the top of a pole :(

I have it installed on the PC but the unit is in the kitchen i might see if i can make the unit wireless too the PC as well so it is not tied down to a life beside a computer.

I suggest a USB extension cable then. You will not AFAIK be able to make the console wireless to the PC.

The best height for temperature and rainfall measurement is between 4ft and 5ft with the wind modules at 2m or preferably 10m.

Keep the temperature in shade with the rainfall and wind sensors exposed.

By the way, Where are you located?
