Hi I have a kit car based on a Triumph Vitesse 2000cc and was wondering if it was possible to put a smaller (preferably a jap) engine in replacement as this engine is too big and there is no room to swing a mouse under the bonnet.The radiator seems to be too small to cool the engine while in traffic and there is no room to even put an electric fan in.

Corolla AE86 twin cam engine and box,you would have good go in that!

Thanks I'll see if I can find anything like it on the internet. The most important thing is the physical size of the engine and not the power.
I don't think the rest of the car could handle too much power.

You could always stick a ford Zetec in from a mondeo with a ford type 9 five speed box

The 2.0 XE 16V engine from the calibra would be a good candidate too.
They come in turbo flavour too!!
