Christmas Truce

Without meaning to be overly dramatic, I got to thinking about the various Christmas truces during the early years of the First World War.

In light of this truly touching piece of history, I'd just like to tip my hat to the regulars for always making this forum a lively environment to post in. I would also like to thank my fellow mods, PDN and Asiaprod, for doing a bang up job of attempting to keep the peace in the face of waht can be some very contentious topics. There are a number of posters - both Christian and non-Christian - who I have come to respect over my time here. These people (no sense in mentioning names) have displayed their intelligence, passion, faith and humour with a consistency that leads me to believe that they remain good eggs behind their internet persona.

All in all I've had a good year. This is in no small part to being surrounded by a caring family and friends, maintaining rude health, remaining financially solvent and a growing trust in God. For these mercies I am truly thankful.

Here is hoping that we all, irrespective of our religious stance, have a happy Christmas and that 2009 will be full of joy, stability and excitement.

    (P.S. I'm not drunk)

Enough time for a game of soccer?

I can see it now -- fourteen hours arguing about whether or not the rules actually exist and if they do, whether or not they allow guys to kiss each other after scoring.

    Merry christmas to all :)

I know it's pathetic, but thank you for punctuating that correctly.
