Never got paid today. A colleague who is off today rang me and asked why she hadnt been paid. I checked my online banking and discovered I havent been paid either. We cant contact anyone in head office as they broke up for xmas yesterday but we were ensured that the wages had gone through to the banks yesterday. I rang my branch there are no payments pending. My manager is away on holidays so she cant do anything about it and everyone else took a half day.

Is there anything I can do about this?Since I realised I hadnt been paid four others have said they didnt get paid either. Will I just have to deal with being broke for xmas and new years? Everything is arse about face in this company...

Anyone else in this situation today???

    Talk about a christmas surprise...:(

Depending on what time yesterday they got to the bank they may not have been processed yet?

if you normally get paid on Thursday it will go through tonight, it also depneds on who you bank with against who your company banks with could be the difference of 24hours

I normally get paid on a friday and we were told we were being paid today. By the looks of it if it doesnt happen at some stage today were probably f***ked until next week.

Just as well I got all my shopping done.

in all likelyhood the money left your employers account when they said but the banks like to hold on to it for a day or two ( they make millions this way) , it will hit your account but will prob take a day or two extra.

The banks reopen tomorrow (Tuesday) so there is a chance it will go through then.

Mine was late too. I usually get paid on 25th of the month, but my boss doesn't sanction for it to go in a day earlier at Christmas, due to the weekend that followed, it only went in on 30th - usually no bother, as we normally get a bonus, but we didn't this year, and the boss never cared to inform us that we wouldn't

Lovely, but i think their price increases are more justifiable. A reliable service which doesn't rely on fuel. Anyway going off topic here.:p

 Never heard anything bout this!! How does it differ from the way we were taxed last year? I know about the smelly income levy but is there anything else different?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,266 ✭✭✭MysticalSoul

Basically the levy, and the range of the lower tax bracket has increased as far as I know.

Depending on what your income is, the levy would either be 1 or 2%. However the pay for last year, SHOULD be at last years rate, as it relates to that year, so would query that with your payroll.

PAYE (and thus the income levy) is taxed as it is PAID not earned so you're getting the short straw there.

In contrast people paid year end bonuses (traditionally paid in Jan) before 31 December will have avoided the levy.
