    Hi,
I've started training this week and I'm trying to take it slow enough starting off.

In the past I've started off eating too many extra cals (ie. 1000+) and got sick of eating so much food.

Currently I need about 2400 to maintain weight so I'm going to try and eat about 2650 per day.

I'm doing the basic compound lifts in my training (rippetoe). I'd imagine on training days maybe an extra 500 cals or something.

    Thanks.

Forgot to say I am aiming at 1 or 2lbs increase in body weight per week.

Im not up 100% on calorie counting, but looking to gain that 1-2lb a week....id would recon you would need far more calories than 250 excess!

    WorkAccount,

You need 3500 surplus calories to put on 1lb of weight, so that means an extra 500 to 1000 per day to add 1 to 2lb per week.

    JT.
