I bought a Guess bag from Forzieri.com and the label inside the bag said 'made in china.' does this mean my bag is fake?

Just asked a friend in the next room who has a lot of real Guess stuff, and she checked her wallet and that says made in china.

It's amazing how much people pay for a name.

It's far from just a name. Guess items are manufactured in only the best sweatshops.

Snore, this thread isn't about what's worth what, anyway, they aren't all that expensive compared to some brands.

+1 they are one of the cheaper brands

And from someone who was once of the same opinion as kleefarr, there is most definitely a difference in the way brand named clothing is manufactured with regard to quality. Granted, its not worth the amount we are paying, but it is by far worth more than a 'dunnes' branded bag, for example.

Is it such a surprise that Guess stuff is made in China?

I'm not that up on high-fashion, but given the huge amount that "leading" brands spend on marketing to associate a certain feeling with a brand, there's not gonna be much left over to spend on the actual bag in question.

I want to be sexy, I want to be cool, I want *that* brand.

A lot of clothing and apparel is made in China.

Just came back from the States where I bought a really nice leather-look Guess shoulder bag as a present for my sister in a Guess outlet for $30!

UGG Australia boots are made in China!

I like Guess' stuff. They're more reasonably priced than a lot of other labels too.

Next time I see someone flaunting an oversized Guess logo its going to be an unavoidable conclusion that this person is dumb enough to pay a small fortune to keep Chinese kids out of school and on 12 hour shifts.

If you buy them in BT that is. I saw bags in BT for E150 which retail for less than $60 in the states.

People ask me to look at their handbags from time to time to get my opinion on whether their real or not b/c i deal with them. I always say are you sure you want to know? If you like the bag what does it matter? :)

My advice is to bring the Guess bag into a stockist and they'll be more than happy to tell you if its genuine or not. Guess train reps in Brown Thomas, Arnotts etc so they know their stuff.

even some DSquared2 parka jackets with the big fur collars come from China - the ones that cost over $2,000 - and the others from bangladesh

besides most fakes pretend to be from Italy and usually come with a badly printed Ittierre tag and a crooked fake hologram

I even seen a fake D&G jacket on e bay where they spelt Italy as ITAIY
