Hi I realise there are other threads on this topic but they are locked :( Basically our issue is the tv licence inspector called over about three weeks ago (a week after I moved in). There was a tv in the apartment, we told him this and they sent a letter asking for €160. Seeing as the coverage is awful and we all have laptops and internet we decided to sell the tv. It is now gone and I emailed the licence inspectors to tell them this and they replied that if we do not purchase a licence a summons will be issued for the inspection in november, this is despite the fact we have gotten rid of the tv. Probably shouldn't have emailed off my student account as they'l presume we're bullsh***ing but we've actually gotten rid of it! Think this is a bit unfair not denying that if they hadn't asked for the money we wouldn't have sold the tv but seeing as only rte2 worked and even then it nearly blinded you after 15 mins not much point in keeping it anyway... Please advise don't want a court summons :D

Further to this bureaucratic nonsense, how come I'm only required to have a tv licence if I have a tv BUT I have to get a fishing licence BEFORE I get any fish? Doesn't seem fair somehow.
