What music playback software (apart from Foobar) also uses Replay Gain technology?

    I'm thinking of scrapping foobar and moving to a different piece of software. However, one thing I like about Foobar is the Replay Gain technology. Can anyone tell me are there any other pieces of similar software to import/organise/playback music on your laptop, which ALSO uses Replay Gain (or its equivalent)?

    I've tried iTunes but it doesn't seem to have the functionality.

    MP3gain should work with most players if i remember correctly. I assume you mean you want to normalize the audio level on all songs so that volume is the same on every song???

    even Windows Media Player does that. Its incredibly standard.

    yes it does but i wouldnt fancy letting it scan my library to do that, it does take a very long time. and im also not sure if that is made perminant when you do it in media player and itunes???

    with mp3gain all it does is add a tag to the song so the change is reversable ie: just disable or stop mp3gain running i think

    it doesnt need to scan your library..? it just does it. it doesnt alter the files it just normalizes the volume during playback. though it will normalize audio when you burn or sync files too, if you like.

    Whatever it does it's not Replay Gain. Haven't used WMP much recently, but iTunes' equivalent of Replay Gain was awful - it made no discernable difference.

    @defenstration: What's wrong with Foobar?

    Mp3gain + winamp is still the way to go in my opinion

    Well I'm having trouble getting it to find the album art. I'm looking into that now though and it looks like this functionality doesn't come as standard - you need to use AlbumArtAggregator or others along with Foobar? If that's the case, then I presume my problem is solved and I can stick with Foobar. Any recommendations on which script/software to use here?

    One thing though about Replay Gain though on Foobar - surely there is a setting to have this applied automatically to all imported albums/tracks burned off cds? The first few albums that I ripped from cd seemedto have Replay Gain applied to them automatically, but now no matter what I do, it doesnt happen automatically and after waiting 10 minutes for the album to be ripped, I have to then manually apply Replay Gain to the album, which takes another 10 minutes...

    AlbumArtDownloader

    It has access to your library and finds what albums have no album art.

    Don't give up on foobar. It's a lovely player when you get to know the ins and outs of it. ;)
