Here's a treat if you're a fan of Star Wars and in particular if you are interested in the work of George Lucas in general. It's Lucas's senior project at the USC film school and dates from 1966. The story (in so far as there is one) is about a racecar drivers attempt to beat the eponymous track record time with his yellow Lotus #23.

The film is an early glimpse into the mind of George Lucas and features many of the elements that would reappear time and time again in his feature careeer. Note the sunset at the start, the interest in speed and the struggle between man and machine. Even the use of a yellow sportscar is a motif that would occur again and again throughout his work!

Anyway, watch it quick. I doubt it'll stay up on for long!
