    Hi,

I need to present a short DVD in a loop for several hours, its really important it dosent skip or stop so im looking for an alternative to a DVD player which is abviously prone to skipping and probably isnt designed to play on a loop for several hours so is it possible to buy something that display multimedia presentations without buying a bulky PC? It will be in Mpg format. And will need to be hooked up to a TV/LCD

Also im thinking of implementing some sort of a backup system, anyone have any ideas, something on the lines of the media player plays but if it breaks down for whatever reason then the backup DVD player kicks in, probably not possible but i thought id ask anyway.

btw i tried googling it but i dont know the correct keyword and it just picks up media player software like Windows Media Player instead of hardware

http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055444287 .. not sure if can be put in loop mode .. u could buy 2 and connect and then simply change channel if one failed.

Super stuff thanks for that, i presumed it was a MPEG file but looking at the DVD it seems to be nfo and other types of files but they play fine in DVDs and PCs ive tried so i presume its fine plus the software is designed to play in DVD so i presume its indusrty standard. Theres an option with the software i use to make the DVD loop so i presume that since it mentions it plays ripped DVDs that it will play the loop. Then i could have 2 players connected to the monitor which will have 2 scart connections and then if 1 fails quickly switch to the other drive. Great idea and thanks for the help.

Im probably hoping for miracles but is it possible to program it to recognise the other drive isnt responding and switch, i presume thats just fantasy, i dont mind paying extra for the system as it means the system could run unmonitored.
