Never heard of them.. but even if you went into Specsavers to get colured prescription contacts, you wouldnt have them in time for Christmas or New Years.. it takes a while..

I have had them before, any optician should get them for you. They weren't hugely expensive but did take two visits to the optician, one to check my eyes (even though I wanted non-prescription this had to be done) and to order them and one to show me how to take them in and out. Also, be sure they get the right colour in, sounds daft I know but I learned from experience!

Just to let you know that you definately need to go into an opticians for the coloured contacts as it's actually illegal to supply them in Ireland without a presrciption!

What an odd law! i suppose it'd stop the pound shops supplying them, like they supply cheap glasses..

its actually illegal to sell them on a premises where there is no qualified persons to show you how to use them.
not illegal to sell without a prescription as that makes no sense as people with perfect vision wouldn be able to buy them.
ya need 2-3 visits to an opticians.
if your last sight test isn within a year or 2 ya may need a new one.
then you have to be fitted with the lenses, taught how to put them in and take them out.
then a final check with them in to make sure all is ok. then they wil be ordered.
freshlook (only comes in monthlies so theres cleaning involved) have very good colours -are alot better than daily ones.

Sorry for not making it clear but a prescription is a written prescription for contact lenses not an actual correction of sight.

As a contact lens wearer, I wouldn't like to see coloured lenses freely available without correct advice. They're not like buying off-the-peg reading glasses in a pound shop. You're putting foreign bodies into your eyes.

When I first got my soft contact lenses, my optician wouldn't let me leave the premises without learning how to put the things in (not as easy as you'd think) and establishing the importance of keeping them scrupulously clean. I also have to have check-ups to ensure they're not causing any damage to my eyes.

Now, I know that someone who wants to wear the coloured ones just wants to wear them every now and then for fun but the principle is still the same. Contact lenses are great but they have to be treated with respect.
