buying a light-weight portable laptop

    hi i was thinking of buying a eee pc asus 901 or 1000h or a dell mini. i would be using it for the internet, games, skype,msn and offic apps. i was hoping to grt it in windows could some one recomend the best model please. i have a budget of about 350. thanks very much

    What do you mean by "Games"? Because these machines really weren't built for gaming unless it's quite old games like, vice city or the likes. Anyway, the one to get is the Samsung NC10, there's a massive thread on it in "Laptops" so you can have a read there, they can be bought online from the likes of http://www.elara.ie.
    It has the best battery life out of almost all the netbooks i can think of, a 10" screen, so it's not too small, and i think it has a 160Gb Hd, with windows xp installed.

    thanks very much for your reply it was greatly aappracited and i am planning on buying the whit one off dabs.ie. i was wounderin and i know it's a stupid question but does it have a cd-rom drive.
    has anybody got it and if yes whaat are ur taughts.

    Nope. No cd drive. No loss really as most people don't use it.

    Well. I just bought an LG X110 from Carphone warehouse. Seems great to me so far after messing around with it for an hour. I had the lowest spec Asus eee pc and it was cat! This one is a million miles better than it. The only thing is that it exceeds you budget by €100 without insurance but I'd reccommend it if you can stretch. Good luck!
