A few of the guys I used to train with in Rathdown Kenpo club have decided to go their own way and open their own club. Among the people opening the club is a former South African police officer who will be teaching the stuff he used while on the force. The main instructor asked me to post the following here on Boards.

"CRX Kenpo Martial Arts Club located in the purpose built gym of St Benildus School in Kilmacud (www.crxkenpo.ie) are holding classes on Mon and Thurs evenings 8-10pm. 2009 classes begin on Mon 12th January. These classes primarily focus on modern real-life self defence and include self defence techniques, bag/padwork, sparring and fitness. Three American Kenpo instructors run the club including an Ex-South African Police Officer who provides the often intangible element of actual real life experience."

I really like the look of the website. I take it the little technique panels were done by the instructor that works as an artist.

Classes are starting Monday week 8 - 10pm and the guys have announced that Hugh McCallum, former South African Murder and Robbery Unit detective, will be running a "Self Defense and “Home” Defense Awareness Program" alongside the regular club classes. See http://www.crxkenpo.ie/files/CRXKenpo_SD_HDA.pdf for more details.
