I need advice on my career i am 24
i work in a bar/resturant and i hate it at the moment
it can be nice sometimes but i dont get on with the staff there at all.
They all have theyr own little click.
The polish people stick with the polish people
the bar people are all friends as they live locally and dont really want anyone else in their click,
i get on very well with a few of the part time staff but they only work like one or two days of the week.
When i started there i liked it and used to work lots of hours 50 - 60 hours a week with about 2 splits a week.
now my hours are very varied and sometimes i work hardly anything and other times i work 50 hours.
my manager is after getting very pissed off with my lately i dont know why he seems to blame things that go wrong on me.
i seem to get all the **** jobs he sends me down to do the bottle bins and clean the storage room.
he never seems to ask anyone else to do it.
im thinking about handing in my notice in january but my friends are telling me not to because i wont be able to find another job beacuse of the recisson
i dont know what i should do,
i really want to leave im not happy there but im afraid i wont find another job at the moment
    can anyone offer some advice?

i know how you feel. i too use to get the dirty jobs. worked in the same type of job, only we had a disco on at the weekend. i would have to set up for funerals or partys etc. it would get me down, i would get any help at the best of times.

we would have new staff start and they would find it hard to be be part of click. it wasn'tnice to c this.

i no longer work there due to on injury i have from the job

if ya have any question. i'll be my best the answer it.

what did you do? are you still gonna be working there when your better?

i was thinking this but my hours are so all over the place that i wouldnt be able to do any interviews, also i would have to quit my job and hand in two weeks notice and i assume most places would want me to start straight away?
    what do you think?

If people are in cosy little cliques and you're excluded, I'd say you're right, and you should look for other work.

But don't give up the job just yet. Apply for other jobs, and if you get an interview, try to arrange it for a time when you're off. Mostly people will be easy enough about the timing of an interview, especially in the bar trade.

Don't say "I want to leave my job because they're all in cliques and I'm excluded", though, it would make you sound like a misery-guts. (Not saying you are, just that you want to come across as positive in the interview.)

And before you go jumping from one cliquish frying pan into another cliquey-er fire, make sure that you get a good review of the place you're looking for work from someone you trust.

well i was the supervisior in the disco. whould have to setup for funerals or partys. would be left to bring in the heavey dresser tables and chairs. put away all new stock. lift them heavey kegs on top of an other. keeping the yard clean. doing to bottle bins during the week on my own and cut many of a cut from doing them. theres was more. all that stuff would get down all the time.

don't think i'll be going. manger in the place hasn't been nice to me since the accident. its been 9 months since i lasted worked there.

don't hear from the gang in their anymore. once you stop working in their they just drop you all together
