Date/timestamp on networked h/d

So I bought an Iomega Network h/d and it's working swimmingly apart from one niggling little aspect, the date timestamp when I copy files. I just copied from a file from my Ubuntu machine and even though the date is fine on that machine, the Iomega drive is showing it as 1/8/2008 19:32, which I reckon is the right time if when I first plugged it in, it was set as 1/1/2008 00:00, the hours and all that just about fits, so is there any way of changing the date/time on a networked harddrive, my googling has let me down.
