    Hi guy's,

Wondering if you could help I bought a Samsung 50" plasma TV in Curry's about 4 months ago. I lowered all the setting colour / contrast etc to 35 in the set-up menu first time I used it and have left them at that setting. Thing is the other day I noticed that the TV3 logo is constantly in the bottom left corner. It's not terrible just faint enough to see if you are up close of if the screen is black.

I tried the white screen and the scroll built in burn protectors but it is still there. I ran these both for only about 20mins would I need to do this for longer?. Would anyone have any other Ideas to remove it or am I stuck with it like this forever.

Sorry for the long post but if someone could help it would be great.

    Thanks
    Rob

Ive the same problem with my 50' samsung, any white text from the menus stays on the black screen very faintly when you change channel. Goes away overnight though so im not too bothered. Just plugged the tv in when i got it didnt change any of the settings, is that run in thing for plasmas not a myth?

Make sure you are not using a Dynamic or similar picture preset, I 'm not sure what Samsung label their sets, but use cinema/movie preset instead. Bring down the contrast also, if set too high.

Thanks will try running the white screen overnight. Doen't effect watching the TV but just thought with all the settings down low that I wouldn't have this problem. Will just have to be more carefull.

Not sure which ever the preset mode is. When I got the TV the first thing I did was reduce the colour / contrast / brightness to 35. I increased the Pixel shift but that is all I left all other settings as they were from the factory.

Its should have a few different presets usually called Normal, Cinema , Game, Sports , Dynamic , User or something along those lines. I'm not sure what Samsung label their presets. You want to put in cinema/movie mode as these are usually the best i.e most accurate settings turn off all extra digital processing too. Out of box it was probably set on the dynamic setting, not good, its drives the panel way to hard and image rentention can occur much quicker and if it doesn't go then this is called burn. Have a good look at your settings and get back to me.

Cheers for the help. I'll check them when I get home I think your right I remember seen a setting for Dynamic and Cinema /Movie it is in the same screen as the brightness and colour settings. I think there is even one for Cool / Warm and Normal like a PC.

The TV3 mark is there for the last two weeks but I only watch the TV maybe twice a week for around two hours or so bought it mostly for movies at the weekend. Is it possible that I just havn't watch it enough for the image retention to be gone and if I leave it on for a couple of hours it will disapear. I

It was on standard mode and all brightness etc are set to 35. I'll leave it on a couple of hours and see what happens. Thanks for the help.
