Skip to the bottom for the short version :

There are loads of things a mod could do for me here , I am not sure if this is the right place for this post , if not then I have no idea where is , I am also unsure if the title above is the best way to help anyone looking for it in the future .Also fi this has already been posted but I was too stupid to be able to find it then it could be deleted . Anyway , to make a short story boring ......

I don't have a credit card so any time I wanted to buy something using my papal a/c I had to borrow someone elses . I had previously asked loads of different times if there was anyway of putting funds in my paypal from my bank a/c but it seems that paypal had not come to an agreement with the Irish banks so that was not possible . Recently I checked my 365 a/c and they had added Paypal beneficiary for a money transfer . I added them and transferred a small amount of money and it went through . Don't know if other online Irish banking has this facility .

In short you can now add to your paypal funds by transferring money from your 365 a/c .

Anyone able to do this using AIB online banking? Its seems a little different from the BOI process!

I transferred a fiver from me AIB account using their online thingy and the money went through 4 or 5 days later :)

Make a note or copy and paste the details given to you by PayPal on the transfer money page on the PayPal website and put it in to this part of your AIB page:

Transfer money->add account. That's when you add the PayPal details. You'll need an AIB code card for this to work. Just ring em and order one.

The PayPal account will now be added to your "transfer money" section. When you transfer the cash make sure you add the code PayPal issue you with in the memo section of the transfer screen on the AIB page so they know it's you. Also, the name on your bank a/c MUST be the same as on your Paypal a/c or it won't work.

I got the AIB and BOI ones to work in the meantime, both quite easy to do once you work it out. With BOI you must add paypal as a beneficiary and recieve a code in the post to authorize them. With AIB you must get a code card in the post to make a transaction. I transferred a fiver using both accounts, but it can take up to a week (usually 4 or 5 days) to appear on PayPal. Therefor I would reccomend having a reasonable balance on PayPal the whole time and just keep it topped up as necessay! Yipee :D

Okay, so this may have already been asked but I can't find it, sorry.

    I have two problems:

    1. I sent money from 365 to Paypal internationally. I sent a tenner followed by a fiver. I now know that there is a fifteen euro charge for each transaction. Is there anyway to fix what I did? I tried calling 365 online and they said 'There isn't ' but I was hoping that someone here might know.

    2. My 365 account has my first name as 'Joseph' while my Paypal has it as 'Joe'. Will my transactions work? Is there anyway to fix this? I know I can upload files or something to Paypal, but I don't know how.

Thanks in advance to anyone for helping.

On mobile atm, but keeping it short, as far as I know there isn't a charge to upload funds to paypal. As long as you had details correct the money should go through, it may take several working days.

Thanks for the fast reply :). Well i sent one on the 8th of this month and still nothing. Yeah I think it is the fact that the name is slightly different. Just need to know how to change it now.

    I don't understand this €15 charge ?

I top up my paypal balance regularly from my 365 a/c and there is no charge .

What am I missing here ?

I don't know. I saw it on a thread, I think. Apparently if you choice to top up 'internationally' it's €15. I'm not sure though.

It's the top up 'internationally' that I don't understand , what does that mean ?

I just went in there to my own and I see it now ...mine comes under Domestic Transfer , yours obviously comes under International Transfer .

I didn't set it up specifically for Domestic , thats just the way 365 set it up so I am wondering why yours is setup as International ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5 joseohm91

Well, I chose international because I just assumed it to be International. Can't you chose which way you transfer it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,411 ✭✭✭jonski

When I signed up for it the setup was different then when it switched over to the setup it has now Paypal was just in the drop down menu for Domestic transfer so I have no idea what the initial setup looks like now , sorry .

there is no charges. but you could be charged by your bank if the transfer fails and the payment is reversed.

I would advise you to change your first name. It needs to match your passport's name. Check if you cannot change it straight from joe to joseph.

No you can't. I checked before. Apparently you can only change a maximum of 2 characters.
