Moving to Japan, have a question about voltage.

I'm moving to Japan soon and I was wondering about converting my electronics while over there. If I bring an Irish power strip and one voltage converter can I use the converter on the strip, then plug in my Irish electronics? They wouldn't be major electronics, just my razor, ipod, alarm clock etc.

Is this feasible and safe? I'm afraid of leaving it plugged in constantly and having it blow up my apartment.

    Cheers.
