Easter Rising

They really need to make an Easter Rising comedy. Not in an offensive way, mind, rather a glorifying kind of film that clearly shows Pearse and Connelly and all the rest as completely good superheroes with rugged good looks and ammunition-strap-thingies, and depicts the British as super-villains with long mustaches and fangs.

Also, it should be a musical and have Pink's So What (nanananana I'm gonna start a fight) playing as Pearse rides into Dublin on a bicycle.

And at the end, Pearse has to come running out of the GPO with two handguns and kill a thousand cowardly British soldiers in bullet time, doing backflips and ninja jumps all the while. Then General Maxwell literally stabs him in the back, walks away, and then Willie Pearse comes out of nowhere and shoots him, and says in a Jack Bauer voice: "Guess you won't be coming home to Helga tonight," or maybe some kind of cliché.

Also, James Connelly should be shot like twenty times, but keep going.

    Your thoughts?

Neil Jordan should direct it so.

Would this be the sort of comedy that stars Will Ferrell and Mike Myers or the cast of Kilnascuddy?

Oh no, see, it should kinda take itself seriously in regards to the cast.

    Suggestions...

    Pearse: Kiefer Sutherland (He's God)
Willie Pearse: Shia LaBeouf (Starts off really timid, then becomes a man. Yep)
James Connelly: Ben Stiller (The "crazy" shoot-in-random-directions guy)
DeValera: Alan Rickman (The "Straight" guy who everyone makes fun of)
General Maxwell: Robert Carlyle (In his "Evil" persona)

    And such and such.

    I would watch this :)

Maybe round out that cast with Ralph Fiennes cameoing as the British PM complete with twirly moustache. Twould be awesome.

Maybe have Liam Neeson as the ghost of Theobold Wolfe Tone directing Pearse a la any of the Star Wars films. Plus a nice tie-in to Michael Collins. It'd be awesome
