Firstly, if anyone has posted a thread on this topic or if this question has been answered before, apologies!

Ok I used to have eircom broadband and was using a netopia router. After watching the video keep it carlow on you tube to get from nat type 3 to nat type 1 everything worked perfectly. However, i have since changed to BT Ireland and have been having terrible trouble. I am still using my eircom netopia router, but have bt connected through it instead

Firstly, if i do the standard connection ie through easy mode in internet connection settings everything works fine except for i get Nat type 3. I know if u want to get Nat type 1, you have to go through custom. I get to PPPoE and type in my username as my e-mail address for bt e.g joebloggs@btbb and password is the one that i have set up. if this is not the correct PPPoE and password, I would appreciate if someone could tell me what is or how i find it. I proceed in the same manner as shown in the keep it carlow video. However, every time it fails to obtain the IP address. can anyone else help me as i really dont want to go through the hassle of port forwarding. Any help is more than welcome!

UpnP is enabled and media sharing is disabled aswell!
