TV Out Failing

Using 64bit XP, using 8.12 Catalyst Driver. Have a 4870.

Now, the TV is detected as a HDTV, but nothing is outputted to the TV (have switched to AV, etc, but nothing. Connecting via the TV-out port via a scart cable, to the PC.

As the TV is seen as a HDTV, I'm thinking that a higher resolution than what the TV can support is being outputted to the TV.

Any ideas what I could try?

    /edit
Have tried resizing the "HDTV" resolution to 800*600. It is now seen as a TV, but still no output. Going to restart (again), and see does it have any difference. Forgot to earlier, I'm using the "detect TV" option to get the PC to see the TV.

    The restart did nothing :(

Got a new scart cable, and I now get output to the TV. When the BIOS screen comes up, I can see it on my TV, as well as the windows loading screen (with the green bar going across), but then when it goes into Windows itself, the TV goes blank. Using the newest catalyst drivers. According to the Catalyst Control Centre, it's outputting to a "Default HDTV", as opposed to a TV. Resolution is 800*600, and the colour quality is 32bit (pretty sure this should be 16bit). Refresh rate is 60Hz. When outputting from my old 7800GT, I could output a resolution of 1024*768, 16bit, and pretty sure it was 60Hz. Would love to use the "old" version of the Control Centre, where I could select the "TV" as an output option, but not so on this version :(

    Anyone have any idea's?

download, powerstrip, install, reboot,go to display propertys advanced, set res to 720x576 ,sdtv mode, enable tv tab,tv out pal ,or pal b.maybe plug in svideo into svideo out,to tv svideo in,or scart unit with an svideo in interface.google powerstrip program download.ENABLE second display as tv,in display propertys.LOOK at tech forum boards.ie, laptop forum, post december 12th approx, connecting laptop to tv,i think you have to connect cable to laptop and tv,be4 tv out tab,is enabled ,ie ps prog, adds extra options to display propertys, advanced.tv should be monitor 2 ,enable monitor2 as external display/TV.scart in is sdtv mode, ie 800x600 is maybe too high, you,d need hdmi ,vga to hdmi to get pc in hdmode, does tv have vga/dvi in.OR use vga to dvi in cable.my friend has lg tv,it has like 3 resolution modes for pc thru vga in ,eg 1024x768.at least manual lists only 3 vga/in resolutions for this hdtv.try lower res than 800x600, at refresh rate 60mhz.

Thanks. Powerstrip worked. Somehow made my PC see the TV as a TV.
