Quality Skiing Jackets

    Hi,

Can anyone recommend good quality skiing jackets that aren't too expensive, in the range EUR 80 to EUR 150?

I'm going on my second ski trip and am looking to upgrade from my cheap EUR 39 jacket I got from Penneys last year. Everyone says not to spend too much on your first ski trip but I reckon I'll be going a lot more in future years so I'll need a quality jacket.

Also I could do with upgrading from my cheap ski pants so can you recommend a good pair of these too?

    Thanks.

I think the Kildare Shopping Village is great for Ski stuff. Quicksilver, Tog 24 & Nike. I just got a new pair of salopettes for half nothing in the Nike Store.

I am a big North Face fan and have 2 of their jackets. Think they were about £150 each (I bought them in the UK).

I too have ACG Nike pants - but bought them in Texas so cant remember what price I paid for them. They are really warm and comfy and I have had them for a good few years.

I bought a North Face jacket on a UK website yesterday, makes much more sense with the exchange rate being what it is at the minute (1 euro = 94p this morning).

Check out this outlet site too, I'm buying some extra bits at the minute and they seem to have a few bargains here

North face are opening a store in Kildare outlet village aswell(don't know if its open yet), so you could check there also while looking at the other places olaola mentioned.
Plus its been said a million times on this but give TKMaxx a try aswell, they have great bargains on great quality stuff(once you dont mind rooting through all the stock). Best bargain I've ever got was a pair of really comfy full gortex Rossingol sallopettes reduced from €250 to I think about €80 I paid.

@olaola, what are the reductions like in kildare village? Is it worth the journey over? Is it just 20% type stuff, or better?

It wasn't opened the day we were there (about 2 weeks ago) but you could check if it has since.

They're fairly decent IMO. My Salopettes were reduced from €180 to about €60. There was an extra 30% off on top of the outlet price and I had a 10% off card (that you get if you're an AA member from the info office) I got a wicking underlayer too - the whole lot came to about €75.

TKMaxx is good too - I just don't have the patience to deal with the mess! Prob best to go early in the morning :)

TK Maxx is your best bet! Would reccomend you go to the one in Carrickmines (up the road from Dundrum), as it's really quiet, the gear is laid out on rails and they have a great selection of stuff in there at the moment. Got myself a really nice jacket, pair of boarding pants, goggles and a hat for €130 in there - would'nt have gotten a pair of friggin socks in Snow and Rock or the Great Outdoors for that price

Avoid TK Maxx in Stephens Green like the plague, its WAY too busy and the clothes are thrown all over the place.

I am new to boards so don't know the rules about offering stuff, but here goes.

I bought a lovely Womens Nike ACG Ski Jacket in the states for my Girlfriend, cost me $250 dollars. I am trying to sell in on ebay. If your interested you can send me a message and I'll forward you the link.

Other than that just check ebay.
