hey lads i had to do a 10km in march just found out ts been moved up to january, its on the 20th. I havnt ran in ages and was comfortable i could get to 10km by march now ive only a month.

i realisei wont be running this in any great time, however ive come up with plan to maximise my training time, 2days on one off,

so it would look like this

    sat(20th dec) 2mile
    sun 3mile
    mon off
    tue 3mile
    wed 2mile
    thur off
    fri 2mile
    sat 3mile
    sun off

continuing like this uping the mileage in the next four weeks.

good plan/bad plan?? any comments welcome.

If you are starting from a base of being capable of running 3 miles non-stop (at your own pace), as that is your plan, you should comfortably increase the mileage over the next 4/5 weeks.
You obviously won't be in peak condition, but the training you plan should get you around in a reasonable time (60min?).
My only tip - don't be a hero at the start of the race, save that for the final 400m.
    Good luck.

training quickly woudl be a bad idea , if you just aim to finish you program will be ok, if you can do 3 miles at the moment now you maybe ok, but if your tried do not push yourself too hard.
10k isnt hard to et around the problem is not the distance it is the pace, take it easy and run slow and you should be ok.. but long term goals are always better.

If you're capable of running 3 miles now, you should be fine. I trained for the Aware 10k in about 6 weeks (through studying for final year exams, so not ideal preparation conditions really!) off a similar fitness base. I followed the Hal Higdon novice 10k program, hopping in at a suitable week.
