I play most of my golf in meath/north dublin and there's a few good options for you. Headfort new is one of my favourite courses anywhere. Even when i've played terrible there, it's just a joy to be playing it. Every hole is different and a real fair test. If the pictures on the website don't make you want to play it then i'd be amazed.

Knightsbrook is also good, although i found it to be a little artificial for some reason. Another personal favourite is Royal Tara, although not everyone would likely agree with that one.

Either Headfort new or Knightsbrook and you'll be guaranteed an enjoyable round. Good deals at both currently too.

Would agree that my favourite in Meath are (in order) Headfort New, Headfort Old, Royal Tara, Knightsbrook.

Its defo worth the shortish trip from Trim to Kells to play Headfort New. I guarantee you will not be dissapointed. Its the best parkland course ive ever played and its one of the best in the country. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is the course to go for. By the way, the green fees are very reasonable but maybe you will find them even cheaper on www.teetimes.ie

    enjoy!!

Thanks lads, i knew I could count on ye for some quality advice!!!
Just booked a 4 ball in headfort new on teetimes.ie, pretty reasonable 30euro per head. Must go buy a wheelbarrow of golf balls to cope with all the water;)

I know this thread is old but I spotted a great deal for 8 green fees at Headfort Golf Club with 2 nights accommodation here: http://www.smiths-kells.com/golf-breaks-meath-ireland.html
